About Us

Our Mission & Vision

Madrassah Fatimah taz-Zahra is dedicated to the holistic development of the Muslim female. Striving to empower the learners with skills that will assist them in fully realizing their intellectual and spiritual potential.

The guiding light being the Prophet Muhammad’s (S.A.W.) code of conduct.

Our Objective

The goal of the institute is to impart and nurture the correct perception and implementation of Islam. The student will then become a catalyst for change in society. Our aim is to produce such students who will be role models as daughters, sisters, mothers and teachers, devoted to the reformation of society and to redirecting the moral compass for a future “Ideal Islamic Society”

History

During 1994 the need for a “Females Only” madrassah in Cape Town was identified where Muslim females could reside and learn in an Islamic environment with strict hijab (segregation) facilities. Hence, an institute of this nature was suggested. Other such learning centers in South Africa were only available in Johannesburg.
Alhamdulillah, after consulting leading Ulamaa’ around the country and receiving their wise council and blessings, Madrassah Fatima taz-Zahra for Advanced Traditional Islamic Studies was established in 1994.Initially, learning took place at the Goolhurst Islamic Centre In Cape Town with a total of twenty students.
As the madrassah evolved over the years, logistics and the increase in numbers demanded a change of venue. The madrassah now has its own premises in Ottery. Alhamdulillah, a hifth department was added in the year 2013 and has received an overwhelming response.

The madrassah now hosts a total of 42, students, 8 teachers and 2 house mothers

Aalimah Department

Hifth-ul-Quraan department

The Tahfeethul Quraan program is unique to Cape Town, in that it affords the student to have a 24 hour program set out for her in the madrasah.

Testimonials

What Parents and past Students are saying

It is very pleasing that the girls at Darul Uloom, Fatima Taz Zahra follow Quran and Sunnah of Nabi Moegamad (saw).

May Allah bless the teachers and students with Aafiyah in both the Worlds.

My Sheikh Hazrat Maulana Zakaria Sahib (RA) used to advise us to recite Salawaat on our beloved Nabi Moegamad (saw) and think of death frequently.

I would like to express that I’m glad to have been invited to Fatima Taz Zahra to deliver a lecture on Islamic Physiology.
It is an eye-opener to emphasize this important contribution to students learning Quran and Sunnah.
Students at this esteemed school, Fatima taz Zahra, Cape Town demonstrate the depth of knowledge on Quran and Sunnah and therefore such seminars could only increase them in playing a positive role in society.
